Independently of the high level quality standards demanded by Bering, and of our rigorous CE approvals policy and the demanding product tests that we carry out in the lab, we feel that real life in the field corresponds to the highest degree and is the most reliable yardstick when it comes to assessing the efficiency and quality of a product.

What nature, real-life elements - wind, rain… - inflict on our products, and especially the use that people make of them, often exceeds the imagination of everyone who tests them at the laboratories and standards bodies.
Lastly, not everything can be analysed in the lab: comfort, efficiency and a degree of protection after combining multiple factors that come together at the wrong time… The thermal protection's capacity to "dry" in a wet or cold environment, after water has seeped in, how the waterproofing resists sandstorms…
These are so many situations that are impossible to reproduce in an experimental location… but that you may well run into on your bike.

This is why, three years ago, we created a team of riders tasked with testing a selection of products under extreme conditions… and without concessions!

The principle is to organise a long distance run over many thousands of miles, in countries where the weather and traffic conditions take a heavy toll on men and machines. Voluntarily committed, these expeditions are run under conditions were comfort is very summary. Sometimes, the days roll into nights for lack of accommodation worthy of the name, so a camp is set up… never leaving riding clothes, even for the night!
